A Big Weekend For UK Eurovision Fans

For those of you who don’t follow Eurovision, the last month of Eurovision on Saturday nights on the BBC must have felt weird – to use ESC-philles it’s been like a little oasis before May, and the main contest in Moscow.

It’s all coming to a head this weekend, as the final show is tonight and either Mark, Jade or The Twins of Francine and Nicola will be chosen to represent the United Kingdom. Tonight we’ll hear the song by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren sung by the contestants, and it’s good to read that Lloyd Webber appears to have the same worries and fears as the rest of the community:

"I absolutely know that it would be a mistake to put through somebody who didn’t appear to do the song justice," he said, but insisted he would ultimately support whichever act won the public’s backing.  He said he did not have a favourite act of the three, but added: "I think I might say there are two.  "If I haven’t got the right act there’s nothing I can really do to change it," added the musician.

And if a certain act did win the public vote? “I might not go to Moscow, I really can’t be a miracle worker.”
