To be fair Nokia Sports Tracker was a beta project and closed down officially in June last year, but three of the team managed to get it spun out of Nokia and founded Sports Tracking Technologies Ltd in 2009 around the code. They’ve just announced that alongside the full website and Symbian client there is now a version available for the iPhone. Discuss.
It brings on a range of emotions in people, but you can’t argue with the audited numbers of Daily Mail readers, as the publisher today becomes the first to release an audited readership number for their mobile app. ABC have audited 168,507 users of their iPhone application (with a daily readership of around 62,000). That’s on top of 77 million unique browser sessions for May. Irrespective of how much the iPhone handset costs an Orange user, they really need to look at the data tariff that they’ll be put on. Orange are handing you the classic bait and switch of an Unlimited plan with a fair use policy. Can your iPhone survive on the utterly massive 750MB/month that Orange will offer you? O2 initially advertised the iPhone as being unlimited with a fair use cap on it, but before launch they sensibly changed their mind and said unlimited is unlimited, and we want iPhone users to use the device as intended, i.e. always connected. A very quick post as I travel back from London to point out the release of Settlers of Catan for the iPhone has been released. Your reaction is either ‘huh’ or ‘time to download!’ Mine was the latter. I was a big fan of this title when it arrived on the original N-Gage, so to have a mobile version again makes my heart skip along. Of course it’s on a different platform, so what happened Nokia? DId someone roll a seven and put the robber on your games catalogue? One for an AAS editorial in the near future I think.
