Forget the previews, turn out the lights (at home) because pretty much anyone who is anyone has descended on Edinburgh. The Fringe has… started!

Unlike the two or three day festivals, the Fringe (running 24 days) takes a bit of time to get going, with a number of preview nights, press launches, and artists testing out material from Tuesday past, so there’s a slowly building crescendo – much like the podcast this year.

To start off everything, our first 2009 show is a short documentary about the Fringe. I took time over the last week to talk to people involved in the Fringe, both front of house and back stage to talk about Edinburgh, the festival, advice and memories of the Fringe.
