Microsoft need a lot more articles like this from Gabe over at Penny Arcade. He picked up the Surface Pro to work on one of the regular comic strips, and was pretty happy with the results. For me the Surface Pro is actually a great piece of hardware. For other digital artists out there looking for a portable solution or maybe a Cintiq 12WX alternative I would highly recommend it. Cracking headline from Apple Insider, but it hides two greater truths. Every modern connected device has ‘sold out’ at launch, so much so that the press release is to be expected, and I’m sure someone in logistics is tasked with making sure the ‘zero stock’ tick box is filled. The second is that if the Surface Pro is anything like the Zune HD in terms of quality, durability, and ease of use, then the Surface Pro is going to be a winner (at least for individual users). I still reach for my Zune HD for my portable music when traveling.

I know that some people prefer the cad Hugh Grant over the very respectable Colin Firth in ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’, but this isn’t a film. This is consumer electronics. When Microsoft advertise the new Surface Pro tablet with 64GB of storage, you don’t expect to have a massive 23GB to store your own files.
