The new Iron Maiden album, ‘The Book Of Souls‘ has been released, and my copy just arrived. Most of me cannot wait to devour the 92 minute long album, but part of me runs through the checklist; released after September 1st, check; a maximum of six performers on stage, check; any tracks under three minutes… Damn.
46-year-old Maiden fan Roy Hobbs said: “I go to work doing a job I can’t even be bothered to describe, then I come home and eat either a pie or a casserole with my wife, who is also into Maiden, then we drink a couple of beers and listen toThe Number of the Beast. “We’re very happy. After a long battle with multiple sclerosis, Clive Burr (former drummer in Iron Maiden) died last night. Steve Harris: This is terribly sad news. Clive was a very old friend of all of us. He was a wonderful person and an amazing drummer who made a valuable contribution to Maiden in the early days when we were starting out. This is a sad day for everyone in the band and those around him and our thoughts and condolences are with his partner Mimi and family at this time. I have two strong memories of Burr. Now there’s a headline I’ve been looking to write for some time! Just to recap, tomorrow (April 21st) is Iron Maiden Day, where the band’s new film Flight 666 will be screening on roughly 400 digital screens around the world. It’s the largest opening day for a music documentary ever, and in most screens it’s a one day only experience. You’ll need to queue for the DVD and Blu-Ray disc available in the next few weeks to re-live the experience.
