It’s a quiet day (ie little inspiration apart from trying to build up a head of steam to look at J2ME again), so here are some interesting links from around the web. Daily Scrabble Challenge. The Scotsman Newspaper via RSS (thanks for those two Martin). Denki Blocks for Series 60 phones. Which Video Game Character Are You? (and I’ll take bets on who I am, answers on Monday).
A Game Gear running on the Gameboy Advance? I’m not sure he it’s the best of both worlds, or something the fanboy would have with a venom – but it works and I like it.
The largest part of the Mame project – deciding what to actually build.
Fancy an entire Arcade at Home? I did, so here’s the first of many discussions regarding our MAME Cabinet.
Are you in Edinburgh just now? Do you need yet another recommendation to go to a festival show? Then this is it. Go and see Mitch Benn at Teviot / Gilded Balloon. And tell him I sent you. It’s been too many festivals since I’ve been able to see Mitch, so the next best thing is send everyone to him and get you to leave comments here to make Vikki and I jealous. So go and see him, his new band, buy the CD, get him a Polar Bear, ask if it’s really him off the Radio, etc, etc, etc.
Remember the days when games were real games, and a hard skill level was a really hard skill level?
