It’s A Mad World

Wo remembers “Always On My Mind” by the Pet Shop Boys. Good. Keep that in mind. The Christmas Chart has been announced in the UK, and Glam Stars The Darkness (who have the only original Christmas Song that made any dent on the charts) has finished at Number Two??? It’s a Mad World indeed when yet another dirge makes it to number one ahead of what is going to keep Justin Hawkins and co in pension money for the next hundred years (thanks to whatever ‘Now That’s What I Call Christmas’ gets called next year. And the year after. And

It’s (Almost) Christmas!

Just like last year, Vikki, Eilidh and I are having our family ‘Christmas Day’ a bit earlier than the calendar says. And we get a second day with Eilidh’s grandparents when we fly back to Scotland. So we’re surrounded by ripped paper, lots of boxes, and a toy shopping trolley. Eilidh is really enjoying her “That’s Not My Tractor” book, Vikki and I are watching her Tenacious D dvd, and I’m dipping into “Schott’s Original Miscellany,” a book full of trivia. Expect some quotes from it shortly… Merry Christmas Savings and Loan!

Gabhach Is On The Way

Woo Hoo!!! Vikki is pregnant again! Strangley, the secopnd thing everyone is asking (after, “aww, that’s lovely!”) is “are you both happy?” While we wern’t trying for another baby, neither Vikki or I wanted Eilidh to be an only child, so yes, we’re both very happy, and looking forward to giving her a brother or sister. Eilidh wasn’t planned either, and she has made us so happy that I’m wondering how I’ll find room to love someone else just as much. Gabhach is due on the 20th July (Eilidh’s bithday is the 27th July, how freaky is that). Expect lots

An Engaging Device

So I’m on a train back from meeting up with some of the Mobitopia crowd, and I’ve taken stock of what my N-Gage is doing. I’m logged into an IRC channel, discussing Dark Side Of The Moon; on the radio is Deep Purple; I’m checking the recent posts on All About Symbian; reading use latest news via RSS; and posting this thought to my website. I’d call that a successful and useful device. Who said the N-Gage was a failure?

The N-Gage MCP

I asked where the evil SX-1 was, not realising that the answer was before my very eyes. The David Warner of mobile gaming consoles, the Nokia N-Gage. I want the SX-1 in the Arena till he dies. Part of me is wondering where the rest of the Symbian OS phones fit into the movie world. Suggestions anyone?
