Windows Mobile revenue is not doing better than Android

Some detective work from Seattle PI (reported on WP Central) has WindowsPhone earning under $600 million for Microsoft: “Abysmal?… Compared to Android? Not so much. After all, Google makes $0 from Android sales, though they do take in some money through the limited advertising on the phone.”

Except that limited amount of advertising is $3.35 per user per year, Google are activating over half a million Android devices a day. Add in a bit of windage and you get revenues increasing by $1,675,000 a day, or $611 million a year. I’d like a limited problem like that.
