My Starring Role in Twitpanto

Later on today I’ll be starring in my very first Pantomime, and you are all invited! It’s going to be on Twitter, and following on from the success of last year, the 2009 edition of the Twitpanto is going to be great fun (oh no it isn’t! etc).

This year’s production is “Robin Hood – Men in Twights” and in a strange mix of bravado and do they know what they’re doing, I shall be playing the role of “Guy of Gisbourne Glasgow” to the Sherriff of Nottingham (who will be played by Labour MP Tom Watson).

I was all set to have this rather wet version  of the character (think Maid Marian) and then the script arrived with this directors note…

Guy of Glasgow (@ewan)
Drunken (aren’t they all) Scottish mercenary, violent,  think Malcolm Tucker with a horse and a bloody big sword.

Riiiight… this is getting far more interesting. Can I suggest that when I say the word badger, those of you reading after the watershed replace this with a more Tucker-esque word.

Curtain goes up at 3.30pm, but the chatter is sure to start beforehand. All you need to do is follow the Twitter Tag #twitpanto (or watch at the main Twitpanto website) and feel free to join in the fun – just like any good audience!
