The Road Warrior’s Smartphone Swiss Army Knife

I do a lot of travelling during a year. Sure it’s not as much as many in business, but it’s certainly more than a two week holiday to the Mediterranean that’s still popular in Scotland over the fair fortnight. That Means I’ve got a bundle of tricks in my head to make these trips more enjoyable, useful to me, and to help them run smoothly.

So it’s been good to let some of them out over on All About Symbian in this morning’s article on the mobile traveller and how best they can use their smartphone while bouncing around the world.

One of the delights of the web is just how much useful stuff there is out there for travellers. From running round on a trip and trying to remember which hotel you are booked into, how to get there and working out if you have enough credit left in the local currency, is exactly what a smartphone is good for. While there are a number of “Travellers Toolkit” applications out there, with a mix of free and premium functions, most of these services can be found for free online or replicated with the built in S60 applications.
