Are You Ready For Your Local Twestival?
Twitter users as a force for good? That’s what many Twitterers are looking to do with the upcoming Twestivals.
The short history of the event starts last September in London, with a group of people connected by Twitter having a meeting, coffee, drinks and raising some money for local homeless charities. As more local communities sprung up around the world doing the same thing, the idea of focusing on a single day and a large push to bring awareness of the charity:water project.
Thus the Global Twestival was born.
It’s happening on Feb 12th, and I will be attending the Edinburgh Twestival – I might even have some prizes to go into the fundraising raffle – and with over 60 cities taking part (here’s the list on the right hand side) you should be able to find one close by. If not, why not consider organising one yourself?
