Here we go again. Yes there’s PodcastConUK this weekend in London, and the All About Symbian Pub Meet and Smartphone Show in October, but I’m working on the next ‘mega-trip’ for the first half of November. This will be the third one this year (previously March and June saw trips), and they’re typical characterised by a few things.<\/p>\n
The first is a big conference – this time it’s the The Portable Media Expo<\/a> in Ontario, California. The second is the flight prices – generally if you stay more than a week, and over at least one weekend, the flights are a lot cheaper. In this case about \u00a3350 including tax with American Airlines. A quick word on American. I read horror stories everywhere about them, but really I’ve never had cause to really complain, even when they cancelled a flight on me over Memorial Weekend in the USA and rerouted me to Heathrow over a few cross country flights before catching a 777 at Chicago.<\/p>\n So I tend to stay the week, and while accomodation and living costs mean it costs about the same as the ‘there and back’ flight I get time to recover from jet-lag, and visit lots of people and companies that I normally only talk to on IRC or by email.<\/p>\n Here’s the public diary so far, if you’d like to meet up with me when I’m over drop me a mail to ewanspence at gmail dot com and lets sort something out.
