For some strange reason, Vikki has spent the last month or so as Warren Ellis’<\/a> ringtone. Why? Because Ellis was one of the ‘sanity checkers’ for a new website \/ commercial project that I’m working along (with Alfie Dennen<\/a> and a few others). The site? Orgasmatones.<\/p>\n

Orgasmatones delivers personalised ringtones – because in the whole ringtone market the idea of personalized tones had been somehow missed off the roster, and what could be better than a beautiful woman calling your name at the moment of climax? And thus a new Evil Empire was founded. And the faithful browsed to the url www.orgasmatones.com<\/a> and saw it was good. And heard it was good. And ordered a tone that didn’t add you to a subsription service.<\/p>\n

It’s been an interesting ride, from the first germ of an idea (big thanks to Darla on that one<\/a>), to realising that half the mechanices were so impossibly over my head and abilities that I need to send out a Bat-Signal to Alfie… who saw the potential straight away and has done more backrooms web stuff, audio editing and nitty gritty contracts with companies to sub-licence the tones than I could have managed in a year (this goes back to something that I completely agree with in business and in life – surround yourself with as many people who know different things to you, and keep talking to them. Because when you need to put out the aforementioned Bat-Signal, there are people watching for it, just as I watch for one from them).<\/p>\n

We’ve launched in the UK today, with the USA coming up in the very near future. You can order through our site (and we get to keep the lion’s share of the money) or through any of the content providers and media whores that are using us (Loaded magazine being one of many). Naturally we’d prefer to get all the cash, not just a proportion from the Men’s Mags, but money is money and sales are sales!<\/p>\n

Now, it’s promotion time, whoreing link love from people to get in google, and see what’s going to happen. As Bill would say “It’s a ride…”<\/p>\n
