I’ll uploaded them when I get somewhere that’s not 6 miles up in the air, free Wi-fi enabled planes this 777 is not. (All times PST).

0500: The American Airlines cabin crew on this flight have never tasted Thornton’s Continental before now. And they like them. Lucky me…

0700:Scribefire might be the best option for blogging on the Ubunutu powered EEE, but it’s not a patch on Windows Live Writer… probably the finest bit of software ever.

0715: Gah, Ctrl-i or italics does not work in Scribefire. I remember this right after I press it for the seventeeth time.

0845: It’s no wonder people get jetlag and screw their body clock. it would
be 8am at our destination just now, 3pm from where we departed, yet
people have sleeping masks on, the aircraft blinds closed, and are
pretending it’s the middle of the night. No wonder you get confused!

0950: There may be a much improved In Flight Entertainment system on the 777’s, but with a Filofax loaded with notes to go through and continue planning SXSW, a PSP loaded up with TV shows, and a Nokia 5800 loaded up with every available episode of I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue in the player, I’m pretty much set.

1015: Must remember that Americans think whisky means Jack Daniels (no, that’s a sour mash). I need to ask for ‘Scotch’ to get a malt. Whatever the name, it goes down wonderfully with Wild Boys playing in the background.

1100: Oooh, mid atlantic tiffin time. Shortbread and Toblerones all round!

1105: Now I want to watch Carry On Up The Khyber.

1130: Mmm… Daniel "Hugh Grant" Cleaver…

1135: …and Bridget’s total poof is of course Gaius Baltar. Woo yaay!

1300: It would be about this point that I would normally land in Dallas or Chicago. This is only the second time I’ve done Heathrow to Los Angeles (lots of LA to London though!), as it’s a long flight I’ve tended to avoid it. The lateness of booking this trip meant that I had no real choice – it was this leg or nothing. Have to say though, I could happily do another few hours. Which is good, as it’s still some to and a half hours till landing.

1315: What’s weird is since looking down on the Isle of Skye, the only land I’ve seen has been covered in snow and ice as we’re going on a very northerly routing. I’m psyched for Californian and Texan weather, yet all I see is where Top Gear drove to the North Pole.

1430: Just chilling here with some of the new PSP titles, including the new Buzz game, Brain Bender, yet another collection of little games wrapped in up in a ‘can you get better each day’ package.

1600: Okay, that’s a new way to get through Immigration; have the whole cabin staff, in the line next to me, shout over "Thank You Ewan!!!" at which point the Officer looks rather amazed, laughs, and it’s all smiles.

1700: "It’s time for a game called Mornington Crescent." Yaay!

1900: Isn’t it wonderful to turn right when you board, as I have just done for the last leg up to San Francisco. Remembered to ask for "scotch."

1950: Just coming into San Francisco, and while it’s not been in constant use, I’ve not been sparing in using the EEE PC for work while I’ve been travelling. It still has 13% of it’s first battery left, which it reckons is good for another 45 minutes. Now that’s a machine that’s suited for the road warrior.

Well I say liveblog, more notes that I’m making on the EEE as I fly, hence thenewer posts are at the bottom of this one.
