Currently anonymous: Through a series of unfortunate events, I took a bootstrapped (and profitable) startup onto the VC rocket ship. Now it’s crashing into the ground. Hard. It could be true, it could be a fascinating piece of storytelling, it could be a rather interesting way to launch a new start-up, or it could be a great Second Class Male look at Silicon Valley… no matter what it is, I’m keeping an eye on ‘My Start-up Has Thirty Days To Live’.

The reason we did our preview launch in August was simply to getsomething out the door. As soon as we picked the date and a minimal feature set, we got rid of loads of other features we were playing with (some of which we’ll bring back, some of which we won’t). Smart words (as always) from Violet Blue: The signs and symptoms of depression can easily go undetected in tech culture; especially since we’re all trying so hard to show we’re happy and successful – and any sign of distress or unhappiness typically results in painful reinforcement, such as unfollows. I think it will still benefit everyone to know what the signs are. Rather than a blog post, I recommend reading the complete signs and symptoms of depression as provided by the National Institute of Mental Health and the American Psychological Association’s depression page. Consider them bookmarked and read.
