One of my pieces on All About Windows Phone: Windows Phone 8 does not back-up your device. It backs up a list of your applications and the global settings in your phone. It should be a sensible decision, choosing the right tool for the job. But sometimes choosing that right tool is something that breaks an unwritten rule or a promise a person has made to themselves or a company has in their corporate handbook.
