More than 1 in 7 people in the UK listen to podcasts

Of course with the BBC dominating the iTunes podcast charts, they know for sure that podcasting is still growing, and attracting new listeners all the time. More than eight million adults in the UK – around 16% of the adult population – have downloaded a podcast, with almost half listening to one at least once a week. This figure is echoed in the US. And as I get ready to do one of my biggest podcasts of the year from The Fringe, it’s always good to have my experience backed up.
