What if NBC could delay Twitter as well as their Olympic pictures?
Building on the backlash against American broadcaster NBC, showing the Olympic on tape delay while throwing out spoilers on Twitter, their websites, and their own news programs, is @NBCdelayed, a parody Twitter account wondering how NBC would manage Twitter if they could delay that as well for the US audience. One tiny sound effect, in the middle of Bohemian Rhapsody, and everyone on Twitter (at least everyone I know) asked if that was what they thought they had heard… an old, new, borrowed, blue box. That’ll do for me. Update: Actually no, it won’t do. At the time we all thought it was leading up to a really nice moment… but it sounds like the Doctor Who section was cut for time reasons (which is rather ironic) because they wanted to get everyone home before the Tube closed.
Will the networks choose to improve all of the UK, or the Olympic Village?
I wonder how much of the new Government money to “improve coverage for voice calls” around the country will be spent outside of the M25, and how much of the £150 million will go to the area around the Olympic venues to stop the embarrassment of no mobile coverage for the world’s media as they go on their IOC approved Busman’s Holiday?

“The mobile networks are already facing a capacity crunch that, without widespread, consistent wi-fi, will leave people unable to do the most basic things such as keeping up to date with the latest travel situation and getting directions while out and about.” My FSM, an Olympic Games where people won’t be able to use Twitter or Facebook! What shall we do? Err… ask every Olympic Games organiser in history how they managed without all these gadgets and just watched people run round a cinder track? Besides, I’m pretty sure the small print in London’s contract means that people can’t Tweet/Facebook/Hurdlepile
