Some Of My Highlights from the Various March/USA Events

So the USA trip is over, and I’m getting back into the current time-zone; but there are a lot of great memories. Too many to mention them all, but here are a few highlights. Nominations Closing on Lonely Planet Travel Blogger Awards

A quick heads up for those of you who blog on travel, or know of some really good travel blogs… nominations for the Lonely Planet Travel Blogger Awards are set to close on Wednesday. Once that’s done, the shortlist is drawn up for public voting, but your chance to get your favourite blog into consideration is almost at an end. The awards ceremony will be in San Francisco the week after SXSW Interactive. perhaps I’ll see you there…

Lonely Planet Opens Up Blog Travel Awards Nominations

Over on The Lonely Planet Blog, Matthew Cashmore has started the process for their upcoming Travel Blog awards by asking for nominations of sites and people in the relevant categories. They include Best Destination Blog, Best Expat Blog, Consumer travel, Travelouge, non-English… way too many for me to list. You should have a look yourself on their blog. During the middle of February, the nominations will be compressed to a shortlist, with five websites in each, and then a mix of jury voting and public voting will take place (that sounds familiar) for the winner to be declared in March.
