Everyone’s Kevin Bacon number has dropped thanks to Facebook

There we go, I can finally answer the question “what is Facebook good for?” Three years ago, the average number of connections to join any two people on the planet was 5.28. Now, thanks to Facebook and the rise of social networks, that number has dropped to 4.74. Empirical proof that we are all getting closer to each other. Now, how does Kevin Bacon feel about that?
