Finally, Saturday mornings are back to normal, as Jonathan Ross returns to the Light Programme (sorry, I mean Radio 2) right after Brian Matthews. Unlike his return to the TV, his radio show felt much more natural and “Wossy".” hey, he even had a woman to interview. But what caught my attention was his first interviewee, Graham Norton. The national finals to find the singer for the United Kingdom’s entry into the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest airs tonight, and this is my liveblog of the show. Lloyd Webber Makes The Wrong Call for the UK’s Eurovision Hope

I’m still at a loss to explain away the final decision on Your Country Needs You, the United Kingdom’s national final to decide the act we shall be sending to Moscow and the Eurovision Song Contest in May. The public vote places two contestants in “The Danger Zone” (with not a shot of Kenny Loggins in site – have we finally found someone too cheesy for Eurovision in the Log-meister?), and Andrew Lloyd Webber decides which one to take through to next week, and which one to send away with just their BFH. My Lovely Andorran Horse disqualified from Eurovision

Sometimes life imitates art to such a degree that you wonder what’s going on, but this is too good to miss. Andorran Broadcaster RTVA (like the BBC here in Blighty) is currently getting ready to broadcast their national final to select a song to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately the song Estrelles D’Or by Marc Durandeau bears a haunting similarity to the song that he performed in the Spanish National Final for the 2008 contest. Which came second.
