Next week is the return of the Twestivals around the world, where local groups of Twitterers all get together for a great night of fun and entertainment, all the time while raising money for charity. Edinburgh’s Twestival happens next Thursday (10th September) and starts at 7pm over at the Electric Circus. The charity this time around, chosen by readers of the Edinburgh Twestival Blog is Clic Sargent, Scotland’s leading children’s cancer charity. After The Edinburgh Twestival

Okay, so the bottom line first… the Edinburgh Twestival (on the night) raised just short of £3,500, which I think is a fantastic total. There are still some auction prizes and other bits you can be involved in so head over to the website. I was MC for the night, and given the crowd this was a new challenge for me – after all you cant rehearse jokes about Twitter, Facebook and Fail-Whales in a regular comedy club, and as the event kept pretty much to time and there weren’t a huge number of complaints from the audience I’ll score

I’ll be Hosting The Edinburgh Twestival

Following on from a glittering, international career of compering, hosting, and performing (ahem), I’ll be compering the upcoming Edinburgh Twestival. Alongside music from Plum and Peter Gregson, I’ll be keeping the raffle on track, getting everyone a-twittering, delving into the psyche of the audience (or at least the person silly enough to sit right in front of the stage), raising as much money through the raffle and auction, and all the other stuff that comperes do. The event (one of almost 160 nearly simultaneous Twestivals around the world) is in aid of Charity:Water, who are “looking to bring clean and
