Smile for the camera (around Saturn) please!

The Cassini spacecraft, currently in orbit around Saturn, will be taking a picture of Earth in July. Everybody be ready to smile! Cassini’s images of Earth to be included in the mosaic – both wide angle and narrow angle – will be acquired between 21:27 and 21:42 GMT (17:27 and 17:42 EDT) on 19 July. During these times, North America and part of the Atlantic Ocean will be in sunlight. The illuminated parts of the Earth and the Moon will each be no more than one pixel across in the final image.

On the web, news of the band’s defiance against the march of the amateur filmmaker spread – and was met with whoops of delight from many music fans fed up with seeing mobiles thrust into their line of

Apparently I am a Freesoul…

Last year I was contacted by Joi Ito, asking for permission to use one of his pictures of myself in a photo gallery book he was putting together. The book was Freesouls and the aim was: …to put together a photography book which is about all of the inspirational moments and inspirational people from the last year. I have been lucky to be able to capture many of those moments in my photography and I am hoping that a book will be a good way to provide context for and share those moments with a wider audience of people. Here’s
