Reviewing Verizon’s Lumia 928

Over on All About Windows Phone this week, I’m reviewing Nokia’s Lumia 928 Windows Phone. Exclusivly available on Verizon at the moment, it’s arguably Nokia’s current flagship (for, ooh, at least two weeks) and photographers are going to love the Xenon flash. BUt there’s more to the handset than the lighting options: In terms of design, there is very little difference between the Lumia 925 and the Lumia 928. We’ll be carrying on looking at the Lumia 925 in depth here on All About Windows Phone, but having spent some time with the Lumia 928, I’m really enjoying the handset.

It doesn’t matter that much that Starbucks are not porting their ‘Starbucks Card’ app over to Windows Phone, just grab a screenshot of your card from the Android or iOS version, open the image full screen on your Windows Phone, and voila, your card all set to be charged by the cashier. The hackers worked this out years ago!

Digg’s appreciation of Windows Phone is obvious

From Mat Honan’s look around the Betaworks’ office, who are the owners of Digg… When I visited Digg in early May, the whiteboard was a sea of action items. Littered among them were in-jokes like “NSA Wiretap” (this turned out to be prescient) and “Windows Phone app” (when I asked about this they just laughed).
